Children's Sunday School and CHILDREN’S WORSHIP

Cultivating Spiritual Growth

8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday Worship Services:

Please join us for Children\’s Worship after the Children\’s Message in each of the services. Children age 2 years old through 5th grade are welcome to participate in a \”mini-worship\” structured to grow their understanding of a worship service but also incorporating energetic activities to engage their young minds and bodies.

9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Sunday school Hour:

Roots & Wings is our workshop rotation model Sunday School program. Because children learn in different ways, one Bible story, or theological concept, is taught over the course of multiple weeks and as children attend the different, interactive workshops, they experience the lesson from a variety of perspectives!

Our four classrooms include: Music & Movement room used for games or music lessons, Cooking Lab for cooking, mission projects or spiritual practices, and Rainbow Runway room used for art and science lessons. We are launching at Tween Workshop for our 4th & 5th graders in January 2018 and creating a space for their changing needs. Our Butterflies hold Sunday school in our Great Escape Early Learning Center “Duckling” classroom with a team of dedicated parent volunteers providing a age specific faith experience. We also learn Bible stories through drama, storytelling and video lessons.

We group the children in the following way:
Butterflies (2 years old as of September of the current year through 4 years old)
Bumble Bees (Kinder & 1st grade)
Dragonflies (2nd & 3rd grade)
Eagles (4th & 5th grade)

Each week you can easily find your child\’s classroom by looking for the flag outside of the room!

Adult workshop leaders commit semi-regular teaching and get to work with many of the age groups on a rotation. Adult shepherds select an age group to work with and assist workshop teachers about once a month! All volunteers have a background check and ongoing relationship with our church family. Cultivating Spiritual Growth

8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday Worship Services:

Children do not meet for Children’s Worship during the summer months. This gives families an opportunity to worship together. Activity bags for Active minds are made available each week and the age restriction for the nursery goes up to 4 years old during the summer.

9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Sunday school Hour:

Summer Sunday school is held as one whole group, children age 2 through 5th grade. Adult volunteers lead small groups in games and snack while Lisa Perkins and volunteers lead the lessons each week. During the summer we participate in mission projects that benefit our local community! We celebrate Father’s Day, 5th Grade Sunday and Birthday Boxes for Cherrlyn Manor out in the courtyard (weather permitting).
